ART.8.1 ALL DANCE BALLET

Dance from the classical repertoire and classical ballet technique from world-renowned companies for their high prestige and trajectory.

In the staging proposal, the set-up, costume, period, style, shoes according to the repertoire (pointe shoes or dance slippers), and original choreography belonging to the classical repertoire, also appropriate choreographic and technical level. Acrobatics or gymnastic elements will not be allowed. Character Dances may participate in this category.

NOTE:

  • In the Ballet Repertoire or Fragment sub-modality, you can register from the children’s division (8 years and older).
  • New Alldancers level dancers will not be able to register in this sub-modality.
  • When completing your registration form, is mandatory indicate the name of the choreography and the name of the original choreographer of the repertoire or fragment to be presented.
Choreographies of original creations, exclusively based on techniques, steps, and music of Classical Ballet.
For the New AllDancers level and the pre-mini, mini, and children divisions, the use of piano class versions or classical music from well-known Classical Ballet works will be allowed, as well as orchestrated instrumental music. This does not include music with lyrics or instrumental tracks such as those from soundtracks.
Costumes must be appropriate, and half-pointe or pointe shoes must be worn. Acrobatic or gymnastic elements will not be allowed. Character dances are not included in this sub modality.

Dance that uses the language of traditional classical ballet but allows for more exploration of movement and more flexibility in the application of classical technique.

The costumes respond to a minimalist aesthetic, being more simple and comfortable since they must mark the dancers’ movements. Pointe or half pointe shoes can be used and music may or not be classic.

A maximum of one acrobatic and/or gymnastic element will be allowed.

Contemporary ballet is a dance form that is influenced by both classical ballet and modern dance. It includes a lot of classical ballet in its technique, which has more movement and self-expression.

It started in the 1900s. Many of its concepts come from the ideas and innovations of the 20th century with its modern dance. The pioneering reference of this ballet style is George Balanchine (Who has classical and neoclassical work), there are also many contemporary ballet companies and choreographers, such as Sean Bovim, Alonzo King’s ballet line, William Forsythe, Mats Ek, and others.

Maximum one acrobatic and/or gymnastic element will be allowed.
