ART.30 SCORING METHOD

30.1 JUDGING PANEL

The panel of judges is made up of four different types of judges: General Supervisor Judge, Deduction Judge, Modality Judge and Complementary Judge.

30.1.1 SUPERVISOR JUDGE

It is the judge who performs the functions of supervision and verification of the scores of the other judges through the All Dance International scoring method.

The General Supervisor Judge has the power to request adjustments from any member of the jury. In addition, it has the ability to correct an ill-founded score, according to the All Dance International regulations and finally, he can replace a judge who is not performing his duties correctly.

30.1.2 MODALITY JUDGE

It is the expert who qualifies the technique according to the modality, division and level of the participants of the Championship (Score out of 70 points). The modality specialist jury may give live feedback of each staging (according to the development method of the championship).

30.1.3 COMPLEMENTARY JUDGE

The complementary judge is the expert who qualifies the performance in general according to the modality, division and level of the Championship participants. (Score out of 30 points).

30.1.4 DEDUCTIONS JUDGE

The deduction judge is the expert who deducts points based on the regulatory faults that are determined according to the modality, division and level of the participants in the Championship.

The score will be the total result obtained adding the modality judge result (over 70 points) and the complementary judge result (over 30 points). The result will then be deducted points for faults to the All Dance International Code (in the case of penalties determined by the Deductions Judge).

ART.31 MODALITY, CRITERIA AND SCORING (OUT OF 70 POINTS)

All Dance International divides SPECIFIC TECHNIQUE into two categories: CORRECT TECHNIQUE (1 to 10 points) and MOVEMENT QUALITY ACCORDING TO TECHNIQUE (1 to 5 points), which together will total 15 points.

31.1.1 CORRECT TECHNIQUE (1 to 10 points): All Dance International will evaluate CORRECT TECHNIQUE based on the execution of the choreography with the specific technique used, also considering factors such as costumes, music, context, choreographic intent, essence, and/or choreography.

31.1.2 MOVEMENT QUALITY ACCORDING TO TECHNIQUE (1 to 5 points): All Dance International assesses the intensity and energy of the dancer or group used in the choreography based on the technique and use of body weight and energy according to the specific style.

All Dance International divides EXECUTION into two categories: TECHNICAL LEVEL (1 to 10 points) and PHYSICAL EXECUTION (1 to 10 points), totaling 20 points. 

31.2.1 TECHNICAL LEVEL (1 to 10 points): All Dance International evaluates the entire artistic formation process, from the start of the choreography, through transitions, to the final execution of the performance. 

31.2.2 PHYSICAL EXECUTION (1 to 10 points) or (1 to 5 points for specific techniques like URBAN SHOW, SALSA, FLAMENCO, and TAP): All Dance International assesses the dancer’s physical skills throughout the choreography, focusing on the clarity and precision of their movements. 

All Dance International divides DIFFICULTY into two categories: EXTRAORDINARY MOVEMENTS AND RISK ELEMENTS (1 to 5 points) and CHOREOGRAPHIC COMPLEXITY (1 to 5 points), totaling 10 points. 

31.3.1 EXTRAORDINARY MOVEMENTS AND RISK ELEMENTS (1 to 5 points): All Dance International evaluates the complexity and authenticity of the movements in the routine, as well as any figures or props that add value to the choreography with proper technique execution. 

31.3.2 CHOREOGRAPHIC COMPLEXITY (1 to 5 points): All Dance International assesses the choreography design from basic to advanced levels. 

All Dance International evaluates MUSICAL INTERPRETATION OR BEAT under the MUSICALITY category. 

31.4.1 MUSICAL INTERPRETATION OR BEAT (1 to 5 points), or (1 to 10 points for specific techniques like SALSA, FLAMENCO, TAP): All Dance International evaluates musical ear, repetition, and the coordination between movements in perfect musical harmony. 

All Dance International divides CHOREOGRAPHY into two categories: IMAGE (1 to 5 points) and MUSIC (1 to 5 points), totaling 10 points. 

31.5.1 IMAGE (1 to 5 points): All Dance International assesses the proper use of costumes, accessories, and hairstyles. The costume should align with the aesthetic of the style and fit within the overall proposal, along with allowed accessories such as hats, canes, chairs, instruments, etc. The hairstyle should match the concept, era, or story according to the style. 

31.5.2 MUSIC (1 to 5 points): All Dance International evaluates the MUSIC EDITING, ensuring there are no abrupt cuts or music fusions, as well as the quality of the sound and its suitability for the style. No pre-recorded sounds are allowed for rhythmic styles such as Flamenco, Spanish Dance, Tap, Irish Dance, etc. 

All Dance International scores CREATIVITY (1 to 5 points) and ENTERTAINMENT (1 to 5 points), totaling 10 points. These criteria are used only for original choreographies. 

31.6.1 CREATIVITY (1 to 5 points), or (1 to 10 points for URBAN SHOW): All Dance International evaluates the creation of a new concept, idea, and choreography, as well as the innovative use of props or elements in the performance. (This criterion does not apply to Ballet Excerpts or Repertoire and K-pop). 

31.6.2 ENTERTAINMENT (1 to 5 points): All Dance International evaluates how entertaining the choreography is and how much enjoyment it brings to the audience. 

The category judge may deduct points for the following reasons: 

  • Sequences (steps): – 5 points each time
  • Choreographic Designs: -10 points each time
  • Partial Choreographic Similarity: -10 points each time
  • Total Choreographic Similarity: – 30 points

All Dance International evaluates both traditional and contemporary repertoires, as well as K-pop covers. Traditional repertoire for each style dates up to the 19th century, while contemporary repertoire starts from the 20th century. Each repertoire is scored based on three items: 

  • Full adaptation (2 – 4.9 points)
  • Partial adaptation (5 – 8 points)
  • No adaptation (9 – 10 points)

The choreography that most faithfully represents the original will receive the highest score. This applies only to Ballet Excerpt or Repertoire and K-pop styles. 

ART.32 COMPLEMENTARY CRITERIA AND SCORE (OUT OF 30 POINTS)

All Dance International divides USE OF STAGE into four categories: SPACE (1 to 3 points), or (1 to 4 points for solos), FORMATION (0.5 to 3.50 points), which does not apply to solos, LEVELS (0.5 to 3 points), or (1 to 4 points for solos), and TRANSITIONS (0.5 to 3 points), or (1 to 4.5 points for solos).

32.1.1 SPACE (1 to 3 points), or (1 to 4 points for solos): All Dance International evaluates the movement of the dancers across the stage.

32.1.2 FORMATIONS (0.5 to 3.50 points) does not apply to solos: All Dance International assesses individual dancer’s choreography designs and group formations (not applicable to solos).

32.1.3 LEVELS (0.5 to 3 points), or (1 to 4 points for solos): All Dance International evaluates the use of levels during the choreography, including low, middle, and high movements.

32.1.4 TRANSITIONS (0.5 to 3 points), or (1 to 4.5 points for solos): All Dance International assesses how smoothly dancers move across the stage and change formations.

All Dance International scores MAKEUP and ACCESSORIES (0.5 to 3 points) (0.5 to 4 points for solos) under the IMAGE category for the supplementary judge.

32.2.1 MAKEUP AND ACCESSORIES (0.5 to 3 points), or (0.5 to 4 points for solos): All Dance International evaluates whether the makeup and accessories align with the choreography and style proposal.

 

All Dance International divides STAGE PRESENCE into four categories: GESTURE AND INTERPRETATION (0.5 to 4 points), or (5 points for solos), CHARACTER AUTHENTICITY (0.5 to 2.5 points), STAGE PRESENCE OR CONTROL (0.5 to 3.5 points), or (4.5 points for solos), and SYNCHRONIZATION (4 points), not applicable to solos.

32.3.1 GESTURE AND INTERPRETATION (0.5 to 4 points), or (5 points for solos): All Dance International evaluates facial expressions, gestures, and emotional expression throughout the performance.

32.3.2 STAGE PRESENCE OR CONTROL (0.5 to 3.5 points), or (4.5 points for solos): All Dance International evaluates the emotional and physical presence of the dancer on stage.

32.3.3 SYNCHRONIZATION (4 points), not applicable to solos: All Dance International evaluates the dancers’ synchronization with each other and the music, either symmetrically or asymmetrically, depending on the style.

All Dance International scores AUDIENCE RESPONSE (0.5 to 3 points), or (4 points for solos), as the AUDIENCE CRITERION.

32.4.1 AUDIENCE CRITERION (0.5 to 3 points), or (4 points for solos): All Dance International evaluates the respectful and appropriate reaction from the audience.

ART.33 DEDUCTIONS

33.1 EXECUTION DEDUCTIONS

All Dance International deducts the dancer or group that arrives late at the time established for its performance. All participants must always appear two hours before in dressing rooms in case the program is ahead of time.

All Dance International penalizes the dancer or group that makes any wrong or unjustified previous movement, requesting or not the repetition of the routine. In Live presentations, in addition to the above, will also be penalized the fact of reproducing the wrong musical track, not turning the camera on, or not sharing the audio properly when named by the host.

All Dance International deduces the dancer or dancers who poorly execute high-impact movements or highly complex technical elements:

  • Technical execution points and/or knees.
  • Poorly executed technical exercises.
  • Acrobatics, gymnastic elements, and poorly executed figures.
  • Correct foot alignment.
  • The proper use of the spot or focus on the turns.

NOTE: For consecutive exercises, that is, without interruptions by other elements, it will be counted as a single element. For example, fouette.

All Dance International deducts the dancer or dancers who trip or fall during the performance of their choreographies.
  • Trips: 0.25 points (slips or recoverable mistakes).
  • Falls: 0.50 points (slips or unrecoverable mistakes). For example, in Classical Ballet, falling out of pointe.

All Dance International deducts the dancer or group that throws elements such as liquid, accessories, costumes or any object at the public.

NOTE: If you are thrown to the front of the stage and accidentally fall from it, it will be counted as a fault to the All Dance International Regulations. Each item will be counted individually.

 

All Dance International deducts accidents or falls of accessories or implements that are part of the custom, it also deducts any untidy wardrobe (lost laces, visible underwear, among others).

All Dance International deducts for leaving items, parts of clothing or objects on stage.

All Dance International deduces the act of getting off or jumping off the stage during or at the end of the performance. In the case of group performances, the deduction will be for each dancer.

NOTE: Exiting or descending on the sides (where it is allowed) will not give any type of penalty.

All Dance International deducts the team or group each time it incurs a violation of the All Dance International Regulations that is not described in the aforementioned deduction criteria.

33.2 TECHNICAL DEDUCTIONS

All Dance International will deduct points from the dancer or group presenting a choreography that does not match the registered subdivision (-5).

If the choreography does not maintain at least 80% alignment with the registered subdivision, a deduction of -3 points will apply

All Dance International deducts the dancer or group that registers in a division not according to their age.

All Dance International deducts the dancer or group that uses elements that put the choreography, the stage’s surface, or the participants’ safety at risk. For example, paints, feathers, powders, liquids, fire, talc, stones, helium bombs without weights, sharp implements, and firearms (real or fictitious), among others.

The use of chewing gum, bubble gum, or any other item that simulates the act of chewing during the performance will also be considered a prohibited element.
 

In Live championships, lights (strober or color-changing) will be considered forbidden.

NOTE: Consult with the organization about the forbidden elements.

All Dance International deducts the excessive use of acrobatic and / or gymnastic elements according to the specifications in each modality. These elements are exercises of gymnastics, acrobats or contortionism (individual or group). Acrobatic elements performed in a group or by one or more dancers simultaneously, or the same element performed in canon, will be considered as a single exercise.

 

All Dance International will deduct points for the use of elements that do not align with the New Alldancers level.

These include: 180-degree jumps, one-handed acrobatics, double or highly complex spins, jumps with combined spins (e.g., Calypso jump), acrobatics using momentum (round-off or cartwheel).

All Dance International deducts the use of makeup, clothing, or footwear that are not in accordance with its modality, division, and level. In addition to jeopardizing the use of the stage for the dancer and the other participants. For example, easily detachable elements of the wardrobe, among others. Take care of aesthetics according to age. In group choreographies, makeup, clothing, or footwear will be counted as a single element. However, in case some dancers do not have the appropriate shoes, these will be counted individually.

NOTES:

  • The use of accessories (earrings, bracelets, necklaces) is allowed as part of the costume.
  • The use of a mask is allowed as long as it supports the scenic proposal.
  • For biosafety reasons, the use of masks, face masks, and gloves is allowed for the performance.

 

All Dance International penalizes routines that feature music with offensive language, messages of violence or discrimination, and/or sexual language or context.

NOTE: Each repetition of an offensive word will be counted individually. If you have concerns about the music content, you can send it to your local All Dance International representative, who will review and inform you if it is suitable for the competition.

All Dance International maintains a list of prohibited words; please request it from your local ADI representative if necessary.

All Dance International deducts any inappropriate, insulting, vulgar or obscene movement that is not suitable for all audiences (family audiences). For example: suggestive or provocative movements, obscene or sexual advances.

All Dance International sanctions the choreography that does not go according to age, both in history, performance and stage projection.

All Dance International deduces the dancer or dancers who make expressions of euphoria or screams at the beginning or end of their routine without being part of it (the name of the school, crew, or group), even in the musical track.

This deduction will also be applied if school advertising is displayed at the beginning, during, or end of the routine (flags and posters) except in changing rooms.

 

All Dance International does not allow the use of scenery in competition areas. However, it accepts easily movable elements that must be brought onto the stage by the participants (not staff or leaders). Additionally, these elements must be incorporated into the choreography for at least 20%.

  • Elements that create a sense of place and/or characters, such as images or objects related to a specific time or story but are not used in the routine will incur a deduction of -10 points.
  • Props like radios, tables, chairs, or others that are not used on stage and do not contribute to creating an atmosphere will incur a deduction of -5 points.
  • The use of scenery without restrictions is permitted in LIVE competition logistics and events.

Please consult with your local ADI representative regarding the use of scenery in your choreography and seek approval from the organization.

All Dance International deducts the dancer or group that exceeds the time in its performance.

NOTE: For groups that request additional time, they will be judged based on the additional time requested.

The modality judge may deduct points for the following reasons:

  • Sequences -5 FOR EACH TIME
  • Choreographic designs -10 FOR EACH TIME
  • Partial Choreographic Coincidence (Plagiarism) -10 EVERY TIME
  • Choreographic Coincidence (Plagiarism) Total -30 points
NOTE: the organization reserves the right to receive evidence that refutes plagiarism up to 30 minutes before the choreography awards ceremony.

All Dance International deducts the team or group each time it incurs a violation of the All Dance International Regulations that is not described in the aforementioned deduction criteria.

33.3 ETHICAL PRINCIPLES DEDUCTIONS

All Dance International deduces if the group of fans supporting the choreography, do not have a respectful and adequate response.

All Dance International deducts the dancer or group who enrolls in the wrong level. For example, a professional at the student level, the organization reserves the right to receive evidence that deny the level registered at least 30 minutes before the award ceremony for the choreography.

All Dance International will deduct the act of presenting more dancers in the choreography than officially entered, when not reported to the local ADI Executive and not reflected in the Final Program. A deduction of -5 points will be made for each increased dancer who has not reported on time, i.e. until the submission of the final program.

The modality judge may deduct points for the following reasons:

  • Sequences -5 FOR EACH TIME
  • Choreographic designs -10 FOR EACH TIME
  • Partial Choreographic Coincidence (Plagiarism) -10 EVERY TIME
  • Choreographic Coincidence (Plagiarism) Total -30 points

NOTE: the organization reserves the right to receive evidence that refutes plagiarism up to 5 minutes after the performance.

All Dance International deducts the team or group each time it incurs a violation of the All Dance International Regulations that is not described in the aforementioned deduction criteria.

ART. 34 ACROBATICS

These elements are gymnastics, acrobatics, or contortion exercises (either individual or group). An acrobatic element is considered any movement involving a rotation of the hips over the head or the positioning of the hips over the head.

Two or more consecutive elements will be counted as a single acrobatic element.

Acrobatic elements performed in a group or by one or more dancers simultaneously, or the same element executed in canon, will be considered as one single acrobatic element.

ART.35 PROHIBITIONS

  • The registration of the same dancer in more than one choreography that presents the same characteristics of participation is forbidden (He will not be able to compete against himself). If he commits the infraction, the second participation will be disqualified.
  • Directors or any member of the school are forbidden from accessing the stage before, during or after the participating choreography. They can do it exclusively at the time of their call for the award ceremony.
  • Filming or photography with professional cameras is forbidden during the Championship.
  • Directors, choreographers, participants, staff, judges, managers, and the public are prohibited from having bad behavior or indiscipline that incurs violence at the venue of the event, during the development of the championship. The organization reserves the right to sanction the offenders.
  • Is forbidden for directors and leaders marking space or training dancers on stage at the start of their performances.
  • Is forbidden for directors and leaders come to the stage with their dancers to place objects, elements or scenery in general.
  • Is forbidden for directors and leaders walking in front the stage during the performances, likewise is forbidden to appear and stay on the stage edges during the performances.
  • Directors, choreographers and participants are forbidden from having contact with the jury during the development of the championship, except in the final awards.
  • It is prohibited to register choreographies exceeding the allowed number in the solo, duo, and trio subdivisions, according to the following guidelines: Each dancer in the New Alldancers level is allowed to register a maximum of 3 choreographies in the solo, duo, and trio subdivisions, with a maximum of 1 choreography in the solo subdivision. Each dancer in the Student, Pre-professional, Professional, Open-student, and Open-pro levels is allowed to register a maximum of 5 choreographies in the solo, duo, or trio subdivisions, with a maximum of 3 choreographies in the solo subdivision.

ART.36 POSITIONS BY SCORES OBTAINED

36.1 DEFINITION

The winner is defined according to the All Dance International scoring range (1st, 2nd and 3rd Corybant). For this reason, it is necessary to achieve a minimum score to be an All Dance International Champion and in such a way, maintain the main award structure (from highest to lowest).

Applies in the event that the competition block is 1 to 3 performances. The positions obtained will be according to the rank scores. The highest score will be awarded.

36.2 SCORE RANGE

► New Alldancers:

  • 1st Corybant: 82 – 100 points
  • 2nd Corybant: 72 – 81.9 points
  • 3rd Corybant: 62 – 71.9 points

► Student and Open-Student:

  • 1st Corybant: 85 – 100 points
  • 2nd Corybant: 75 – 84.9 points
  • 3rd Corybant: 65 – 74.9 points

► Pre-Professional, Professional, Open Pro, and Open:

  • 1st Corybant: 87 – 100 points
  • 2nd Corybant: 77 – 86.9 points
  • 3rd Corybant: 67 – 76.9 points

ART.37 TIE RESOLUTION

In the event of a tie in your championship block, the tiebreaker will be defined by a majority of points in your total score from the modality judge. In case of having the same qualification in modality, the specific score will be verified in the following order: technical level, skill or complexity.
