ART.19 ALL DANCE IRISH DANCE

IRISH DANCE

It is characterized by keeping the upper body rigid, the arms and back straight, and precise movements of the legs and feet.

This more modern style has been changing over the years, and according to the interpretation, the arms may or may not be used close to the body. This modality can be with “soft shoes” or “resistant shoes”.

For performances you must use ghillies or hardshoes; Ghillies shoes are only worn by girls, while boys wear black leather shoes called “reel”, which resemble black jazz shoes with a hard heel. Dress is strongly integrated into Irish dance culture.

It is particularly practiced in accordance with the divisions and subdivisions of All Dance International.
