POLYNESIAN

It has its origin in the islands of the South Pacific. This dance presents the culture and habits of the Polynesian peoples. The dances include tales about nature, mythology, and events from daily life. It is characterized by marked hip movements, which require strength and agility on the part of the dancer. The arms, hands and the face must be soft, harmonious and expressive; among which are mentioned Oteas, Tamures, Aparimas, Tahitiana, Kahiko, among others.

Wave movements are common as well as fast, strong hip movements. The clothing is in accordance with the origin of the dance to be developed, no type of footwear will be allowed in this modality, acrobatics or gymnastic elements will not be allowed.
